The Workshops

Dirty Weekend is a series of workshops that provide graphic designers with the opportunity to discover the joy of hands-on, non-digital processes and materials, and how they can enhance their creative process.

What?

The workshops are run quarterly and take place all day Saturday and Sunday. Each weekend focuses
on a different subject, with time divided into four sections, each with its own activity. Over the course of just one weekend participants are exposed to a multitude of skills and techniques within a specific genre. The workshops are small in size (15 people)
to ensure that the participants get the best hands-on experience. It’s a chance to break away from the rigid computer centric workflow, experiment with new techniques, and take risks.

Who?

Dirty Weekend workshops are hosted by creator Steve Haslip and are taught by master craftsmen, designers, and other practicing professionals. What makes Dirty Weekend different from other skill based courses is the emphasis on how these methods effect your creative process as a graphic designer.

Where?

Dirty Weekend workshops are constantly evolving due to the ever changing locations in which they take place. Whether it be an environment specific to the requirements of the technique, or a space that adds to the experience. Every section of the workshop takes place in a different location across the Manhattan area, which means that every workshop offers the opportunity to meet new people, and places.

Cost?

Dirty Weekend workshops are a terrific investment, offering personal development in a great social environment. At just $350 for over 16 hours of instruction, Dirty Weekend represents great value, providing adaptable skills which are tailor made for graphic designers.
